Certified Nurse’s Aide

United Methodist Homes, an organization of senior living communities committed to a mission of providing relationship-centered care, is currently seeking experienced CNA’s for our new assisted living and memory care unit on our Wesley Village Campus in Shelton.

Qualified candidates will provide and assist residents with individualized care needs and work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support independence, dignity, and quality of life.   C.N.A staff will be required to encourage our residents to remain as independent as possible and will also be responsible for one-to-one and small group activities.

A High School diploma or equivalent is required as well as a current Connecticut nurse’s aide registration. Previous experience working with dementia/Alzheimer’s/memory care residents a plus.

The activities assistant is responsible for implementing, facilitating and leading group or one-on-one activities with residents that have been planned by the director. The on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident. Maintenance Technician

This position supports all building and grounds maintenance and performs a variety of maintenance, repair and cleaning activities (internal and external) to contribute to a clean, safe, and operative physical environment for residents, employees, and visitors to the community. Collaborates with all staff to maintain the safety and security of all who reside, visit, or work in the facility. Must have working experience and knowledge of PM, HVAC, building systems, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring and carpentry. Trade school or high school graduate with 5 years of experience. This is a 40-hour per week flexible position with on-call nights/weekend rotation.

Receptionist

Crosby Commons, located on the Wesley Village Campus, a small home like and independent assisted living community, has opportunities for experienced receptionists.

The ideal candidates must possess excellent written, verbal, communication and computer skills and be well organized to work in our fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include answering incoming calls and greeting visitors. Will also be responsible for creating flyers, memos, activity schedules and other correspondence. Must be able to relate to the elderly population, as the receptionist is the central source of information for residents and will assist our residents with problem solving and direct our residents to appropriate departments or locations for solutions.

We have a per diem position available and a 40-hour temporary position with the possibility for full time after 4 months. The 40-hour position hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Security Guard

Crosby Commons, a small home-like independent assisted living community located on the Wesley Village Campus, has a full time opportunity for an experienced security guard.

The ideal candidate will provides coverage of the Wesley Heights/Crosby Commons reception desk while on duty: answering the phone, transferring calls, taking messages and referring matters to the appropriate administrative person. In addition, the security guard responds to residents’ call for aid; offers assistance, notifies police or emergency medical service when requested to do so, and remains with resident until the responding service(s) arrives. Will also patrol the facility on a scheduled basis to inspect for potential risks   and responds to incidences of trespassing, theft, vandalism, threatening calls, etc. in accordance with policies & procedures.

Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changes light bulbs, replace batteries). Actively participates in the housekeeping program. Supports the program of regular floor care. Dust mops and wet mops flooring with disinfectant, when requested.

This is a full time 40 hour per week position which will include Monday-Friday 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Must have a high school diploma/GED, excellent communications skills, ability to speak, read and write English. Clean driving record and the ability to lift 55 pounds.

Foxbridge Assisted Living and Memory Care Community Career Opportunities:

Community Outreach Coordinator

Foxbridge Assisted Living and Memory Care community is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to fill this important PART TIME role. The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for educating community referral sources and other organizations about the services offered at Foxbridge Assisted Living and Memory Care Community.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing and nurturing existing and new collaborative relationships with referral sources and internal/external community members.
  2. Assisting in developing and implementing facility marketing strategies including coordinating interdisciplinary marketing activities to improve name recognition for Foxbridge. Targeted marketing groups include physicians, discharge planners, social workers, senior centers, churches and the community.

Experience: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in a marketing, gerontology or a related field, or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired and three (3) to five (5) years marketing or sales experience.

This hands on position will be responsible for managing all aspects of the reception desk including greeting visitors and answering phones as well as providing administrative support to the executive director. Additional responsibilities will include administering new hire paperwork, coordination of training, ordering supplies and scheduling appointments.
